BEIJING, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Chinese researchers have developed a rapid detection system that can track multiple pesticide residues in about five minutes, according to the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) Monday.
CAAS professor and research team leader Wang Jing said that the rapid detection system integrates technologies of immunodetection, image identification, artificial intelligence, big data, and Internet of Things.
By uploading a photo of the test strip to the WeChat mini-program, testers could obtain the test results on their mobile phones within minutes of system data analysis.
The system is laded with features like quick detection, simultaneous detection on multiple targets, high intelligence, easy data collection, and good compatibility. It is suitable for related government authorities, agricultural producers, and customers to conduct quick detection.
The research team has developed test strips of imidacloprid, acetamiprid, chlorpyrifos, and several other pesticides. Besides, they have developed the image identification platform for multiple test strips. Both the standardized test strips and the platform have been patented.
Due to its compatibility with test strips and other technical features, the system is expected to be used in other testings, such as veterinary drug residues, mycotoxins, restricted additives, and environmental pollutants.
